I met Giles at a networking event quite a few months back. Giles help start up business to understand business strategies and digs deep into the brains of the young entrepreneurs to help them to put together a sound and solid structure that would allow and safe business growth.
It is my 3rd session today and I am really looking forward to it. It is helping me to have clearer vision of where I want to go.
Feeling overwhelmed is I guess normal for anyone who set up a new venture but it is true to say that as soon as I put the word 'BUSINESS' next to what I was doing everything suddenly became so much more complicated. It is like there is a sort of untold pressure associate with this word. I felt I had to do certain things as I felt it would be expected of me.
People want to see what I do so making a few collections, building a website and having professional photos were a must to start with but then the business management part took over everything else. And although it is something I prepared myself for, or so I thought, I ended up spending more time doing business management stuff and marketing than designing and creating.
Giles has been exploring my vision and breaking down each aspect of it thus clarifying my thoughts and helping me to understand how to get to the expected results.
We have so far cover the next 3 years of my business and we are now working on costing.
Giles is a really good listener and as is definitively a patient person. He has the ability to explain in a simple manner concepts that would be otherwise difficult if read from a book and does strongly connect to the business idea to interpret it into business terms.
It is such a useful exercise and I would recommend it to anyone who is starting a business.
